Casinos are a time honored tradition in Zalanthas, but usually these establishments are patronized by the upperclasses and those flush with cash. The largest one in the Known World currently is the Silver Wheel, run in a converted spice wagon by the Tan Muark in Luirs. In Allanak, the Golden Nugget strives for similar fame.

Gambling Philosophy

Different cultures on Zalanthas have differing notions regarding gambling. For some nomadic tribes, it is central to their existence, a philosophy driven perhaps by the already chancy nature of their daily lives. Among those tribes, a lucky gambler is honored as much as any skilled warrior or crafter.

In Allanak, much of the gambling centers around the city's Arena, and many of the templarate there as well as all of the noble and merchant houses own gladiators who fight for their owner's glory and fame in the games hosted there.
